Packing for a movie sans the butler

On Friday, May 23, Jeff and I wanted to watch “X-Men: Days of the Future Past” in 3D. That means we have to bring the twins. That means getting two seats at the VIP Cinema Room that charges twice the price of a regular cinema ticket because we get bigger seats, wider spaces. Jeff and I are big on saving and we don’t spend things out of whim but we know that when we take the twins out – for a movie, in this case – we need to spend a little more.

This is the second time that we took Nick and Toni to the movies. The first time was last April when we watched “Captain American: The Winter Soldier.” When we take them to the movies, everything should be in the bag. By everything I mean the following: four sets of extra clothes, four bottles of milk, four towels, eight diapers, alcohol (antiseptic), diaper rash cream, vegetable cereal sticks, plastic bags (just in case we need to change the twins somewhere and have to throw soiled, dirty diaper), a changing pad, some toys, comb, eucalyptus oil and some baby food. Did I miss anything? Those are the essentials.

It is important that the twins are dressed in comfy clothes when we watch a movie. It is also important that the clothes they wear are “easy to navigate” (as Jeff would say it) so it would be easy to take them off when we need to change their diapers. That means, no tight clothes, no complicated outfit.

I found this pair of blue jeans in a stash of clothes that Jeff’s friends gave to the twins when we moved here. I thought for a while if jeans make it to the list of “comfy clothes.” I had to check the fabric again and made a dry run of the diaper changing process. It turned out to be a breeze. So here is Nick:

The blessing didn’t stop at Nicholas. God gave him a twin sister! Antoinette Elena is Little Miss Independent. She is my mini me. I see so much of myself in her. This is Toni getting ready for X-Men.

X-Men turned out pretty well. Toni slept for two hours – the entire duration of the movie! And Nick was awake most of the time but very behaved. Looking forward to the next movie with them. 🙂
