Daddy Is The Best

Let me tell you about Jeff as a father.

Jeff is a very hands-on Dad.

He wakes up at 5:30 a.m. to change the kids’ diapers and give them their milk. Then, he plays with them. Between 7:00 to 7:30 a.m., breakfast is served. A typical meal consists of a big bowl of vegetable cereal and three to four cans of baby food (one can of meat paste, one or two cans of vegetable paste, and a can of fruit paste). After breakfast, the twins are sent back to the play area, where they spend an hour (usually runs from 8:00 to 9:00) of crawling, playing, opening and closing the cabinets, and putting anything they can find on the floor inside their mouth. After these series of activities, Jeff puts them in their cribs for their morning nap. He then cooks breakfast for us two, takes a shower and goes to work.

I wake up just before he goes to work (between 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.) with my breakfast of potatoes, eggs and bacon all ready on the dining table. The twins wake up at 11:00 a.m. Just in time for my shift.

It’s Jeff who usually cooks our dinner because from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., I “look after” the twins (really, it’s not that much work, hehehe). He washes the dishes, while I wash the twins’ feeding bottles, plates, and spoons.

It’s really teamwork in the Ruffolo home. But I look up to Jeff for being the better time manager and being the best twin manager. He is so much better than I am in this aspect and I do not know how I would have turned out as a wife and as mother if he did not walk me through everything. I am not the easiest person to be with and raising twins is one the world’s trickiest jobs, but Jeff is fantastic in balancing his responsibilities that he encourages and inspire me to be better in everything that I do. He shows that things can be done if you are focused, motivated and determined. He leads by example.

So… yes! I am grateful to have a husband and the twins are blessed to have a father named Jeff Ruffolo. Here are photos of Jeff and the twins last May 25 (Sunday) and today (May 26).

May 25 (Sunday)

The little girl camped inside our bedroom as her twin brother was still asleep. Toni forced her Daddy to wake up. Jeff had no choice but to play with her.

May 26 (Monday)
Jeff is going on a one-week business trip to Beijing hence, the big black monster of a luggage and the laptop. We were supposed to just send him off at the front door but it took sometime before he could leave because there were two tiny creatures, who wanted to put themselves inside the luggage and join him in Beijing. I have to include all photos here because they show how excited Nick and Toni are upon seeing this luggage – which they normally see inside the closet –  out in the living room.
