Suddenly, it’s April 13.
Times flies and it flies faster when you have children.
I am disoriented with news from back home (Philippines) although I do know that the Supreme Court unanimously declared that the Reproductive Health Law is constitutional but voted to strike down some eight provisions. We don’t have The Filipino Channel here so I get most of my Philippine news updates from Philippine Daily Inquirer.
In the last 20 days, Jeff and I are glued to the television anticipating news about:
(1) The Oscar Pistorius Trial. Pistorius is a South African Olympian who was charged with murder of his model-girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, whom he had mistaken as an intruder. Pistorius said he heard someone inside the bathroom and was trying to protect himself and Steenkamp so he used his gun and fired four shots quick successions killing Steenkamp. As of Friday, Prosecutor Gerrie Nel continued to destroy the truthfulness of Pistorius’ account with his merciless, straightforward cross-examination. What makes this really interesting is the turn of events in the life of a young man (he is 27 years old!) with legs amputated below the knee since he was 11 months old but went on to be a record-breaking Paralympian and Olympian, inspiring people from all over the globe; and
(2) The ongoing search for Flight MH370 in the Indian Ocean, that sent confusions and mixed reactions from all over the world after Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said last Friday: “We have very much narrowed down the search area and we are very confident the signals are from the black box.” But Joint Agency Coordination Center Chief and Australian Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston immediately noted: “On the information I have available to me, there has been no major breakthrough in the search for MH370.” I can only imagine the pain that the family members of those 239 passengers are going through with each passing day.
In between these news, I never failed to take pictures and videos of the twins – as you might have noticed in the Facebook Page of The Reading Ruffolos – and it is just awesome to document their milestones every day. Here are photos from April 4 to 13 of the twins here in Guangzhou, China:
On April 4, these happened…
We normally watch Discovery Channel and National Geographic when the children are with us BUT on April 5, a Saturday night, Jeff said I committed a mistake.
Then came Sunday, April 6:
Sunday was a long day so we basically chilled out inside the house that Monday (April 7):
The expressions after breakfast last April 8:
On April 9, I was waiting for a news update on Flight MH 370 when I saw this…
So I jumped off from my seat to check how serious the situation is. Summary? Nicholas tried to get the remote control which I intentionally placed under the couch. He tried to crawl in between the large couches. Here…
And just please allow me to share these photos of the twins when they were so naughty and wanted to play with the grocery cart.
Still on April 9 are these photos of Nicholas when he woke up from his afternoon nap:
April 10 was another big day. It was the twins’ FIRST SWIM!
April 11 was all about slowing things down. Like drinking milk…
And Saturday the 12th of April started with this:
Today, it was bonding time with Mrs. Broccoli, whom we met and bought at IKEA.
More photos in the next 10 days (April 14 to 23)! 🙂
