We found something special in Cebu.
It’s the Golden Prince Hotel, located on Acacia Street – at the corner of Archbishop Reyes Avenue – and is completely unlike other properties who boost of this and that amenity to entice you to stay; perhaps it is free Wi-Fi, or your kids can have a really terrible (but complimentary) breakfast buffet.
Unlike all the rest, The Golden Prince is a hospitality product that solidly delivers in all aspects and doesn’t need any gimmicks to do so.
The Ruffolo Family decided to celebrate our twins’ fifth birthday (Nicholas and Antoinette) at the Golden Prince and upon first entry, were warmly greeted throughout. The staff was more than amenable, truly gracious as we were escorted to our room.
More than a ”cookie-cutter” hotel room, our pre-selected “Royal Suite 2” was amazing … with a full-sized living room, mirrored by two separate bedrooms and a dining area complete with microwave and oversized refrigerator. The “Royal Suite 2” offers a total room size (with two full-sized bathroom and a spacious living room) of 70 square meters. It is comprised of one 72″ X 76″ king size bed with two 39″ X 76″ single beds.
There was a welcome basket of cookies on the dining table – of which the kids immediately gobbled up – and swan-folded bath towels in the master bedroom that immediate caught Cris’ attention.
Everything we could ask for in a secluded get-away from the city hustle and bustle was ours for the asking.
The lobby-based Le’Mon Restaurant offers a lavish, five-star buffet breakfast with an array of selections that even our finicky children enjoyed. Freshly grilled packages were first on order and I had a perfect egg-white, veggie omelet.
The Golden Prince Hotel is very family friendly and staff were immediately on hand to help our little, two year old Jeff Jr. maneuver his scrambled eggs. Fresh juices abound as well as local Filipino breakfast items.
Retreating back to our rooms, Cris and I commented on a wonderful evening’s sleep we enjoyed with soundproof walls and thick exterior glass to ward off Cebu’s rapid city construction.
We certainly recommend The Golden Price to any parents seeking a family refuge from the world and offering those important tidbits that very young children enjoy.
