Super September

September can only be described as “Super” primarily because I gave birth last month to Jeffrey Peter Ruffolo Jr. The house has been in much chaos and I am still trying to figure how I will survive the next months caring for a newborn, addressing the needs of twin toddlers, working on graduate studies, and maintaining this blog. I am just going to take this one day at a time and hopefully wake up tomorrow and it’s already December and Jeff Jr. will be three months old.

Super September - Delivering JJ - readingruffolos

You’ve read this in this blog and in my social media accounts: 26 hours of labor, two hours of pushing, and I ended up with a C-section. I was disappointed at first because I was hard pressing myself to deliver the baby via the regular route. A repeat C-section is painful than the first and I had a hard time adjusting but Jeff Jr is healthy and well and he is a very good boy. He is not a cry baby.and for that I am very thankful.

School Work

I’m pursuing graduate studies on Language and Literacy Education online and had a paper due eight days after I was discharged from the hospital. Getting that done was an exercise of discipline and willpower.

Super September - three hobbits - readingruffolos

So now, we have three mutant hobbits in the house and it’s a circus! Every single minute, someone is crying, giggling, whimpering or fussing. I’ll be lying if I tell you that we’re still sane!

The twins like to sing these days and they have mastered the use of the word “again” to signify their demand to have me sing nursery rhymes again and again and again.

The first hay ride

Meanwhile, they enjoyed their first hay ride with their Uncle Joe and it was Jeff who took these photos because I am still lazy to get out of the house unless it involves doctor’s visit.

I don’t really know how I survived September what with the physical and emotional rollercoaster ride I have been through. But it looks like we’re on the first of October and I’m still alive and breathing. My appetite for food is back and I am getting the hang of breastfeeding. My husband is wonderful and has remained patient with me. I am much loved and helped by several people including a lady named Anita, who selflessly devotes her time to my family to help me breathe.

I think I can go back to putting on make up and dressing up for Oh-so-wonderful October! 🙂
