The potted plants in the house are dying and so I thought I should revive them. Actually, they were plants “rescued” by Jeff off the streets. I maintained a garden of vegetables in grade school and participated/volunteered in different treegrowing activities so gardening/planting is not new to me.
I wanted Nicholas and Antoinette join me because I was hoping to make them love nature and green and plants and trees early on. I had second thoughts though because I am not sure if they understand what we are about to do. I was also worried that they will eat the leaves and the soil because they put anything in their mouth. And it can be messy so there will be a lot of cleaning up to do after the gardening (sans the garden). But the cleaners are coming so… Hehehe. So I went ahead and had Toni and Nick with me on a Saturday morning with the potted plants.
I was surprised when I saw Nick’s fascination of the soil. Not once did he try to eat the soil or the leaves.
It was a different story when he played with Toni after lunch:
Happy weekend!
